Effective metaphors that are used to empower the reader (and the writer). I was telling myself that life beyond our own boundaries is what everyone deserves to find.

Your words are powerful and so fit the bird I have been watching for months at the store. So shy and angry he was taken from his mother not yet weened. Would not move from one perch. Then he finds "friends" the girls that work there love him and have brought out his playfulness. He shows off for me now but every now and then I see him staring at the outside as the pet shop door opens, how I would love to set him free.
Beautiful poem! |

From mind of a bird! I heard chirps as I entered my garage today. Babies in my tree out front were calling for food. They will live longer than me if they survive their youth.
Very creative.

I Love This Pic!
Your Words are a Powerhouse of Emotions & Inner Truths
I Love This Part: "Raucous bird. You prattle in the shrieking tones of a fledgling to a sky that is foreign to you, bitter at the changing clouds. Yet you boast of your wisdom and preen in your cleverness." This is Fantastic! I have known this in myself (unknowingly at the time) but also have been witness to know someone "preening in their cleverness"
Powerhouse I tell you!!

Linda,
Such power in your words and inspiration and challenge, too, this is a declaration of war on timidity, self-imposed "fetters" and the prattle of the trapped and desperate. Excellent!
