The slow rhythm of this poem invites the reader to adopt a quiet and meditative state of mind and enter the cyclical nature of life that gives meaning to its linear aspects. Nothing, no life, no effort is vain in that respect.
There are many beautiful lines in this piece and one of my favorites for both form and content is:
"As the power of the dead lay still, their skill
is used to further the climb"

Elegant, moving writing that rings out strong and sharp when read aloud. This is one of my new all-time Den favorites. I particularly love:
"The hermits lantern, a pale light in the wilderness
lacking shine, so his wisdom is ignored on the vine..."
With respect and admiration ~ |

| I'm so impressed with the depth and scope of this poem, Linda. Very Ecclesiastes, somehow. It has weight and is sonorous. A significant write. This needs to be read and digested and pondered upon with due care and attention. Thank you for your major effort here. Kate xx |

| This is amaxingly written and so it hits hard to me at home. It makes me think of this generation and its faults and the killings and mobbings and what destruction is being caused by careless and uncaring people who live in this world today. |

I'm sure you have heard the sayings " the pen is mightier than the sword" and " words Lie still" I have to ask myself after reading this Who authored those sayings? they are very contradictory and how many more sayings that we have learned are in us and furthermore, what effect do they have on who we are. Writing is both sad and glorious, I especially like the last verse. This has been true for so many things that have been written up till now. We that truly care need to change that.
Great write,
Take Care, Pierre |
