All honest work is useful

Drab building
once abandoned

not even qualified
for knock-down renewal

Pitted drive way
just plain dirt

rain brings mud
splashing clean cars

People come
and go at will

burdens weighed in
as payment is by heft

Then to the dirty man
in the little window

counts out the cash
the accumulation is daily, constant

from roadsides, dumpsters
by ordinary people doing service.
