One of life's mysteries.

Essential elements in chemistry
are listed on a periodic table.

Life elements are not so easy
and have yet to be tabled.

For instance, when a child is born
everyone is smiling and happy.

When an old person dies sadness
reaches down the family, out to friends.

But the child is going to die-
the old person is leaving pain.
