The creed

will outlive all
here now their children's
children repeating endlessly

those foolish enough
to negotiate only
give us pause

to become stronger
we push with steel
till we meet steel

then hold and wait
till we can push again
no side wins or loses

the forces clash the blood
pools rises recedes
leaving bones turning dusty

while endless fresh baby bones
bloody from their mother's belly
emerge and carry on

to no conclusion
the trump is silent
endlessly cycles forever.

We have not learned how to break the cycle and thus humanity is at odds with the planet. Well said, Henry. Love and peace. Regis

Someday, God willing, we'll figure it all out... but until then, we try to break those cycles, even though we never quite get there... great write...

Superb poem Henry! It does at times all seem like a never-ending cycle without reason. That's why faith is so important.
