can't get HERE from THERE
by Vince Sanders

The early 1970’s might have been the most appropriate time in America’s history to set up a radio news network for and about Blacks in the United States, more appropriate..

Julie

        ........by her own hand

Julie, dear niece
i hardly knew you

locked as you were
in combat with your demons

but you shunned me good
at your father's burial

i, standing with mother
you embraced mother

and left as though
i was never there

breathing, cold sober
as always, my flaw

now, as of today
Julie 0 demons 1

forever.........

The beauty of this comes from its subtlety, which gives the reader pause to read between the lines. Its somber tones run to chilling depths. ~~Nordette

Oh Henry, I'm sorry for your loss. This was a terribly sad but effective write. Blessings, Michelle

Truly sad, Henry - and sadly, I think, something that occurs in many families today.

This was sad; but I think in her state of mind of grieve, she might have forgotten to do a lot of other things as well. You should not take this to heart and feel sad. I think I know during this time, everyone is more sensitive to realities.

Hope you'll feel better soon.
