As kids do
by Henry Burt Stevens
2/21/2005

Swiming across Shadow Lake
Robert Gray and me
his sister Ann rowed
all headed for the opposite shore.

Spring fed Vermont lakes
are cold, even in summer
our lips turned blue so
we sunned on the far shore.

Heading back in the
green blue water to the camp
the accomplishment of having
done the trip was ours.

I wonder now if at
the end I'll swim as well
the lake of burning fire
my family and friends predict for me?

Is there a burning fire? We are brainwashed to believe a lot that is not there. Even Jesus said heaven and hell are within you. We make our lives heaven or hell but once we leave this body which is only tempral, we are just spirits who either join the rest of the spirits or may be will come back once again in another body like some believe.

Either way, even if there is a burning fire, who knows who will go where? If we go by the word of God, our heart is seen and you know what your heart holds not your family and friends.

Live as you must, the rest will take care of itself.

You got guts Henry, whatever happens in the end you'll always know that. Anyway when we get old we get weaker all around, mind and body.
I'm planning on going out in a blaze of glory if I can. A very mind moving piece. Made me think. G
