Jerry
by Henry Burt Stevens

Jerry opened his
comments with "morality"
as the centeral theme

When he took a breath
i suggested the term
"social control"

But it turned out
morality can only come
via God and Jesus Christ

Jerry had approached
my table at McDonald's
indicating an interest in my poetry

Whenever i spoke
he interrupted me
quickly negating my words

After a while i said
"Jerry, this is a public place
you sat, now get up"

We shook hands smiling,
standing tall looking down
he said:

 "The only difference between
you and me is I know the truth
 and you do not."

Thanks for sharing Henry. Jerry was a fool.

some people can only see their particular truth and that won't change because their mind is closed.

You know this is true I think whenever two people with strong feelings and emotions get together. Hope it still can be worked out and as long as you are talking and not fighting, I suppose that is what counts.

Hmmmmnnnn it sounds like Jerry needs to re-examine his ego and his knowledge. I commend you for your patience even in writing this poem so calmly as you have.
