Classified: Top Secret: Do Not Forward:

our petty plans and silly sayings
are just somethings stuffed
in our ears and eyes

to entertain us, to delude us
into believing we know
what is really going on

the ringmaster barks
we sit back relaxed
to watch animals, performers

have an other box of
popcorn, a drink maybe
some cotton candy

later, tired at home we'll sleep
the reel will rewind to play
again the animals and performers

who now do not hear the ringmaster
the lions break ranks and claw their
way through the audience

the midgets start firing live rounds
into the stands-no one can leave
the exits are blocked

the band plays much louder than
before, the P.A. system shouts
"this is really what is going on-
how do you like it?"

Now...how do we get the word out to those who still wear their blinders?

You sure can think, Henry; and provoke others to think as well. Thank you for sharing your insight. Love and peace.

Henry,

You've nailed it. Great metaphor for the underlying truth that permeates our society. If they pulled back the veil for real, we'd all run screaming for the exits.
