blessed

the universe is an expansive place
way way beyond our imagination
to embue it with a supernatural face
responding to our prayers with grace
no spook designates a holy place
indifference is the stamp of space
whatever enlightenment we find
is but our echo in our mind
the shamans are but us
who individually levitate
themselves and don the cloak
that hides oz from our eyes
these personages in parsonages
ply their trade dispensing wisdom
broken off in crumbs to feed
our vulnerability which is their strength
they play us like a piano
making godly music to fill our ears
whose capital name gives power
to smite us endlessly till weariness or'takes us
the race is to the swift
the strong do prevail the clever win
holding disproportionate treasure for themselves
and their families forever
who attribute a supernatural
relieving themselves of any responsibility
blessed, they say to turn away
their eyes and minds not seeing any unblessed.
