"Lessons"
It makes no sense, no sense at all, why someone else at will Would take the life of some dear girl, her heart now cold and still. If someone hurt your only child and caused her so much pain. Then maybe it would comfort you to know she’ll come again.
Perhaps your daughter’s reborn soul would say, "I want no more." And she would ask God, "Please, not now. I’ve been through this before. Don’t send me back into that life, that hell down there on earth Surely if you love me so, then I should have more worth."
And God might say, "Beloved child, I understand your plight. But you will be a source of love, a glowing ray of light For all the mums and dads down there who care enough to know That once they have you in their arms, they’ll never let you go.
Sometimes people just don’t see the pain their actions cause, But if you stop and think awhile, just stop and take a pause, You’ll realise that all the hurt that they have caused to you Will turn around and come right back and they will feel it too.
I’ll greet them here up in my world, right where you are now, But they will come and you will go, it will make sense somehow. You know what it feels to hurt, yet you will soon be free To have new life that’s full of light and hope and joy and glee.
If you will leave behind your broken heart and cries of pain, Your sorrow and your lonely nights will not have been in vain. They’ll learn their lesson and it will be all because of you That they will come to understand the cruel things they do
There’s lots of room in heaven for all the sorry souls to heal. I take them in with open arms and pray they’ll learn to feel, For what we do today could come back to us tomorrow. Don’t leave a trail of broken hearts, neglect and hate and sorrow."
Have you ever seen a person with eyes so blue and clear That you feel a sense of comfort, love and joy that they are near? Well maybe that is one of God’s brave angels come to say It’s all right, I understand, God planned it all this way. © Annette Hansen 2004
