Halloween Night

I wrote this many years ago.
Happy Halloween !

The golden moon shone
brightly through the darkness
of night. The stars looked like
twinkling diamonds shining on
the sights.

Shouts of joy and laughter
echoed in the air, as children
dressed in costumes were
running every where.

Witches, ghosts and goblins
scurried down the streets,
carrying bags of candy, as
they yelled, trick or treat.

It was halloween, the
scariest night of all !
Every child in kidville
was answering to the call.

When the clock struck nine,
they were homeward bound,
with their sacks of goodies,
almost dragging on the ground.

Tired, happy children
tumbled in to bed, and dreamed
of ghosts, and ghouls with
orange pumpkin heads.

Halloween was over, gone
for another year. In a childs
heart, its memory remains
forever near.

MaryGrace;

I enjoyed reading this piece, and it reminds me of the time of year I love so much...the fall. I have pumpkins and colored leaves, drift wood all over my apartment. Everything is done in fall colors. My article entitled, Halloween; The Two Headed Monster, is my #1 article, having been published on 39 websites on the Internet. In that piece, I talk about my wife and I taking the boys to a Halloween party at school, and we had a lot of fun. I think Halloween is for little kids and big kids alike.

Have a great week...

Wonderful memories...enjoyed reading.
And you are so right. I don't think a child ever forgets going "trick or treating." Sixty years later, I can still remember.
