The Doubly Good Blessings with You
Bev, things seem to always come in doubles with you –
blessings that are never far and few.
At 22 I got the best birthday present a man could ever want,
Knowing there were more I dos than don’ts.
Then came our special boys – two of the best young men to brace this earth,
By working together to raise them, You were the best mom to ever give birth.
Grandchildren have now come --
Kaylie, Blake, Bryce, Keira, and Brantleigh too,
But I know their beautiful lives would not be without me and you.
Now at 33 years of marriage I admire you more and more,
I see your love and zest for life
And know the next 33 will not be a bore.
At 44, I strained to think of what happened that year of my life
But I know it was in Liberty,
Some of the best years with you as my wife.
Turning 55 this day, the double nickel, Adding 33, it’s sure not to fizzle.
Whether I’m 55, 66, 77, or 88, Life with you I cannot over state.
Though we have had our share of hardships, Not of our own making,
Life spent with you makes others worth forsaking.
I love you Beverly and always will,
Doubly good blessings from you,
Making life one big thrill.
