In a motionless form she exists
Yet her heart and her mind, they thrive
With her dreams and her goals she persists
Imagination keeps her alive
She dances each night until dawn
And makes love to the man she once knew
She suns by the pool on the lawn
And runs where the wild flowers grew
Though her arms no longer embrace
And to speak in itself is a feat
The hope she continues to chase
That her mind and her body might meet
She sings with a voice clear and bold
As she sails on an ocean of blue
Together they laugh and grow old
Raising children in Kalamazoo
These visions she keeps safe inside
Of memories that never will be
For the days she wished she had died
From an existence she cannot flee
