Say What Silly Man?

In the vein of Sir Richard that had scrambled with words the gray matter of our Jerry's head...LOL...and remembering all the babbling politicians trying to say something...but what?

Open the obvious door leading to the room of surprises
can’t we see the silly games the gods are playing on us?
and yet, naiveté, we forge ahead on an incredible path
where tollbooths only accept tears made with helplessness.

Grandiloquence of preachers warning about Gods wrath
forgetting perhaps God’s love among their scrawniness
of and existence without the flesh of reality, just a dream
to be to voice of the One which never needed wordiness.

Ludicrous words is the weapon of the snake oil charlatans
that tricked the obvious superstition of mind’s wobbliness,
when their ground were just a voodoo collection beliefs
that twisted all God’s giving reason of man’s objectiveness.

Them, those idols with clay feet on heroes marble pedestals
who are “them”?, a figment of fractal going consciousness,
an ergonomic puzzle that will never fit in our expectations,
our bones will tell that they will survive our worthlessness.

Serendipitous, those that had a first class ticket to Valhalla
and the ones that can avoid underworld Hades shadowiness,
where three head Cerebus will feed on unsuspecting preachers
that will bully men in the name of His one non exiting Hell.

Talk in many tongues, like a multilingual Babel born snake,
a mouth full of angry words trying to sound winsomeness,
like grammatical Sirens luring a Ulysses like naive readers
with double meanings of inexplicable thesaurus abstractness.

I will close now the non-window of the deaf eremite cavern,
that sits on a dictionary devoid of letters and objectiveness,
white pages that an illiterate soul tried to wrote to posterity or
perhaps for a blind analphabetic man that understood it…less.

I'm thinking old age must be setting in. It took a few readings for me to understand what you said. My take on it reminds me of the old fire and brimstone preachers who spoke with forked tongues. Yet, in spite of all of this garble, I hope to have a better understanding of His word and go forth and let my life be an example of goodness. But, then, again, some may use me as an example of what NOT to be.

Still I think that I am the consumate
"white pages that an illiterate soul tried to wrote to posterity or
perhaps for a blind analphabetic man that understood it ... less."

God bless you. Kathy

What a thought process brother Edvard.
An arcane flow of logical eloquence.
I told you, you are one of the few who
get better with age. If you were a bottle of
wine you'd be out of my price range.
But I'd still wanna pilfer it and drink it. (-:
Thanks for the note.

Cannot argue with anything you have said. I have said much the same thing, although not as eloquent as this is. There is a saying II have always kinda liked and it is, "If God didn't exist man would have had to invent Him." What I take from that saying is that man needs rules, otherwise we will run amok. Look at what is happening in today's climate, there seems to be no real punishment for so much crime and terrorism. Still, like man is wont to do we carry the God thing much too far, and He becomes a petty, vengeful god. Ah, I know that isn't what you meant you poem to be, I just get carried away sometimes. Great poetry, George . . .

Funny how you posted this before I posted "WWJW" But by golly if they don't compliment each other. We must be on the same page today, Georg.

Georg, First let me tell you, that this is by far your best constructed poem I have read from you.

Secondly, due to the nature of my profession, I immediately saw in my head John Lithgow delivering his fire and brimstone speech in the movie "Foot Loose" (1984) He was speaking of the evil of dancing, and why it was not allowed in their town. Of course the reason behind it was the fact that he never got over the death of his son that died in a car accident coming home from a dance. So my perception of your poem is that deeper meanings are transmitted from your words.

Very well done, my dear Sioux Wounded Warrior!
Much peace, love, and light,
Amber "V"

"where tollbooths only accept tears made with helplessness"--That's one of the classics! Nicely done. If I could just cash in my tears for an EZ Pass, I could ride the tollways for a lifetime.

Georg, in comparison to this, my simplistic poetry takes on the resemblance of the babbling of a child. Your words, so intellectually chosen and so strongly placed side by side with your other words absolutely stuns and leaves me breathless. Though I am non-religious, I feel the strength of your biblical reference.

I could never quite reconcile the notion of the "fire and brimstone" affirmations of those charlatans who declare that if you don't follow the "right" path, Almighty God will damn you to an eternity of burning in hell - but he loves you - and he can't handle money.
Great write!!
