THAT GLEAM THAT SPEAKS OF LOVE
Loving moments shared and sung
Brought me new joy in life and strung
Chords of my soul not touched before.
You made me feel alive once more.
Yet now I'm sad, your heart's in pain,
Your soul-filled eyes awash in rain.
I feel the sadness in your heart
And want to tear those clouds apart.
That loving gleam of soft devotion,
reflecting love and deep emotion,
That fleeting glint that I once knew,
Like sunlight on the morning's dew,
Now haunts my soul, won't let me rest.
It's gnawing at my heart, distressed,
And beating just for you. Say when
Will I behold it once again?
That soulful, tender glance that speaks
Of love? My aching heart – it seeks
To know it well. Yearning, I long
To comfort you and right all wrong.
