Inspired by a recent concert I attended featuring singers Merle Haggard and Kris Kristopherson!

There is another day a comin’
Just like the one I left behind
And it promises me that nothing
Will likely change in space or time

I await this morning’s sunlight
Like a necessary duty
Living till its last conclusion
Without purpose or delight

Every night was once awaited
Like a birthday to a child
With a promise of a sweetness
When love’s call made life all right

Time has sadly torn apart
Any hope for hearts delight
And now time, is merely waiting
For its fateful last goodbye
