The day is drawing to a close
The light fading into gloom

The day is drawing to a close
The light fading into gloom
artificial lights cause white rings on streets
with shadow between the pools of light
It is this progression from light to dark
That reminds of a truth ‘bout life
Living things seem to fade with age
Becoming more shadow than light
With bursts of light in specific places
And quiet darkness in between
It is the shadow time, that is a grey reminder
Of the time to come,
when all becomes a dark shadow
the light comes less frequently
and fades quicker, it seems
and soon the gloom will dominate
the light will fade, assuring,
that shadows will cover all the places
