I Was There

I was there when ancient Lemuria sank into the sea

That once great and mighty home of humanity

The land where the ape first appeared

A thousand miles from the shores of the southern continent

I was there when mighty Atlantis sank to the bottom of the ocean

That once glorious pinnacle of human achievement

The land where man annihilated the bulk of the Cro-Magnon

A few hundred miles from the shores of the northern continent

I was there when greed and dark motive blotted out the inner sun

When two continents succumbed to greed and passion

Where man nearly lost his soul upon the path of no return

Where yet can be found the remnants of past glory turned to ruin

I was there and now I have come again

Undaunted and undeterred, I have returned

Once again wrapped in a temple of flesh

Armed with fresh resolve, determined to tread the Lighted Way

When ten thousand years have passed from view

I shall return again, and together we shall proclaim

I was there when ancient earth was twice born

I was there when the race of man ascended into the Light
