Another song lyric rather than a poem. Selina (the music half of the team) and I did this one as a kind of wished for revolution aganist the power of the big entertainment corporations and a return to small local gigs. It might happen of course.

Sandanista

I am an anarchist, yeah! I am The Sandanista,
I am a red, I’m all that you dread
and I’ve been to bed with your sister.

Anthems are being rewritten,
the buzz can be heard on the street
the dancers are all in position
waiting to pick up the beat
Aphrodite brings us sweet honey
Dionysus is bringing the wine.
The voice of the Turtle is singing
the ram and virgin align.

I am an anarchist yeah! I am The Sandanista,
I am a red, I’m all that you dread
and I’ve been to bed with your sister.

Radicalism is sexy
conformity moribund,
You’d better lock up your daughters,
while you’re there better lock up your sons.
Chain them to the mortgage ladder,
lock them into solid careers,
the music is growing louder,
soon it will drown out their fears.

I am an anarchist yeah! I am The Sandanista,
I am a red, I’m all that you dread
and I’ve been to bed with your sister.

You thought the battle was over,
the grey team had won the contest,
but the Mercedes Benz and the mansion
are about to be repossessed.
But out here there is music playing,
free spirits are spreading their wings
there is nothing gained by resisting,
embrace what the future brings.

I am an anarchist, yeah! I am The Sandanista,
I am a red, I’m all that you dread
and I’ve been to bed with your sister.
