Audio: Alien in my bed
Alien in my bed,
you got here under false pretences,
took me in
with the speed of your
slick -lipped lip sticked mouth.
I thought you were one of my breed,
but you belong to another race
somewhere out in deep space
where the universe is expanding
faster than my vocabulary.
You drew me in, snared me
in finespun words
and spider web eye liner,
darkness deceived and silver
skinned words dazzled.
Bright and brittle, morning
sees through your deception.
You’re an alien in my bed
Reaching out across light years,
With your promises of love
To wash from my mind these
primitive ideals that bind me
to the endless human quest
Lead me towards a black hole
Where self is lost in the vacuum.
