Know someone that seems to have a beer bottle in their hand, more than their mate,,just look around,, |
|
If, I were a beer bottle
I would have your love
Forever………….
To be entertained by
A one man show
For the simple fact
If, I Were a Beer Bottle
I would always have a nice brown tan
To go with my always perfectly
Molded shape.
Never would you mistaken
My name
Nor the labels I wear
You would never forget where
You left me, you notice quickly
when I’m gone
You never mind paying my price
Most times you don’t ask how much
When company comes over I am
Always invited to join,
You’re never ashamed to have
Me in your sight, close at hand
You even watch carefully
To make sure I’m not broken
When being passed around
If, I Were a Beer Bottle
I would always be on your mind
In the morn, of your waking
Wanting the day to pass till
The five o’ clock bell
with a dazzle of gleam in your eye
you reach for my neck, wanting
tipping me up to your lips
to taste my love
to find it’s tasty enough
to want
more~n~more
If I Were A Beer Bottle
I would not have to wait
you’d be right on time
never would I be lonely
for long for you to rescue
me off the shelf
nor would I hear the excuses
of why you’re not there
funny how you like me
nice and chilled for the
warmth I give you in
your soul, in your heart
you can’t turn me away
you never tell me no
for the taste of love
slumbers you into ecstasy
of another world you believe
Of rescue
If I Were a Beer Bottle
I would be such a proud lady
for I would never have to worry
‘bout my man coming home
not worry ’bout being replaced
even though he out trying a d
different brew, he’ll always
come back to his brand
And I wouldn’t have to worry
where he was when the lights
were turned down low, for I’d
be the last to be in his hands

One of the best and meaningful poems i've read in a long time. Made me feel guilty for getting drunk Sat night.
Well done--Gerry |

Dear C,
So funny and so terribly true!
What is the madness?
How wonderful relationships would be if the same amount of energy and attention was generated onto loved ones instead!
If cigarettes are involved too, then there is no free hand at all! Addictions are often the first love or a major player in the triangle.
Thank you for tackling this incredible subject! (I'm saving to library)
Love & friendship Suzie :-D |
