Indifference

The oppisite of caring, compassion, and empathy indifference, causes pain that is often hard to see

For should the one that's hurt react to the pain the other sees no foul and is apt to explain

The reasons seem innocent and are confidently averred that atonement or apologies are seldom, made or heard

In satisfying the self in what seems perfectly right a beckoning is ignored or a plea seems made light.

The bottom line is that the pain and hurt are very real if we don't acknowledge how indifference makes others feel

It's a hard one to see and not one of us does all that we should
So make sure to listen and to always be quick to do what you said you would

For these times bring enough trouble and pain to those whose lives we share
That being careful not to slight or ignore, seems little to do to show them we care.

For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want.
