The red, white, and blue Inspire many images That come to my mind:
Three crimson roses Gaze upon the milky moon In a sapphire sky;
Strawberry kisses While sharing a bubble bath In an azure tub;
Ruby-colored cheeks Touched by early winter snow Miss their turquoise scarf;
A single cherry On a scoop of vanilla With fresh blueberries;
Cincinnati's team Hits and throws the baseball To beat the Dodgers;
My kid’s bloody knee, Covered by pale bandages, Creates a sad mood.
More than just a flag, Red, white, and blue symbolize The essence of life.

Love the imagery in this Robert.
Very soothing but also sobering! Especially in the second to lasr stanza where you introduced blood on your child's knee as a metaphor for the blood that was shed to keep that flag waving in her red, white, and blue splender!
This touched me!
Kudos
