When one has had enough

Passage

I’m sinking beneath Depression’s dark waves –
Surrounded everywhere by raging foam,
I shout…but it’s lost in the roaring raves
Of emotion; I sink towards my new home.

Shackled – abandoned – and I cannot swim;
All I can do now is watch and to pray,
Not for salvation – my fate is too grim;
I wish Endless Night to claim me today.

With drowning eyes, I gaze upon the shore
And see distant eyes returning my stare;
Those eyes give sadness, but then give no more –
They turn, in search of a more carefree air.

Thus, another oasis soon will sink –
One that once offered a rescuing hand
To those same eyes that deny me a link
To a heart where I once found my home land.

A whirlpool develops, drawing me in,
And with a word of love, I disappear;
My soul seeks another place to begin,
Where comfort might be found that wasn’t here.

Robert,

Don't SCARE me like that - glad to see this was written in 2003 - and prayerfully, not your current state - although I can sense sadness in your voice - know you're in my heart and prayers - *kotc*

(((((HUGS))))) and love, Karla.
