Just once, if only the Words came,
The way the Heart had wont;
There would be no need to scream,
And Each could love the Other.
A long life provides only confusion,
Not the consolation of understanding;
Parent loses the Child,
Husband watches the Wife move on.
Where is the time of safe harbour,
When friendship derives warmly;
Coming from the Group love,
Of things cherished in common.

| There are two windows in everyone's private space. One looks out over the trash pile, the other looks at the flowers in bloom. It is all choice. Enjoy the roses, smell the flowers. Enjoyed the read. ~E |

I like the title; and the poem is great. Yes, sometimes two people in love do drift apart very carelessly. I agree with Robin.....a little more attention now will go a long way.
