Tales of a Clear, Dark Night
by Jansen Estrup

The heavens, we are taught, have always inspired awe, tradition, even salvation. Why? What did our ancestors see there?..

A MAN of SORROWS

Every character has an inward spring; let Christ be that spring. Every action has a keynote; let Christ be that note, to which your whole life is attuned. ~Henry Drummond

A man once said of Jesus Christ the following remark

In every sorrow that rends the heart

A man must play a part

This is true of Jesus Christ for he took our sins away

This is why I say a Thank-you prayer to start each and every day

The sad, sad story that rends my heart was that I was lost in sin

The happiest day of my life was when I opened my heart to let him in.

You might be right to call him a man of sorrows for he carried them away

He relieved my heart and soul of their heavy transgression

Now my heart and soul bear true confession

Jesus is my Lord and master, my savior great

That is why I cry out to him in my humble state
