Our sun has been taking it easy all winter
Some days it has seemingly paid us no mind
But winter is over as springtime we enter
And warmer days and longer daytimes we now find
I can feel the anticipation as the sun ends its relaxation
And calls the tulips and daffodils to wake up and come to flower
And one must be impressed as the flowers spring forth and get dressed
For just as the sun woke me this morning it also wakes them and the trees who also respond it its power
And I welcome Spring as I pray and sing to God and Jesus Christ our Holy king
It is God the Father and Christ the son who are responsible for all of which I sing
I sing loudly with joy for it is they that rule over all, the flowers, the trees, me and everything
