Write a verse about love, dear poet!
Shed some bitter tears on the paper,
Break in, like a burglar, into hearts
And etch in stone the pain by rhymes forever!

Speak on behalf of those who have no strength to write,
Light a candle with the fire of thy words
In memory of those who suffered!
Tell them, oh, poet, how on a sleepless night

Thou dip the stylus in thy own blood to write!
Tell them what price thou pay for gift from Heavens,
And from what hell, what agony, what torment,
Thy elegies are born!

I think poets love the poetry of others--echos of the same thoughts in so many different shades. This is beautiful, Liana.

"Speak on behalf of those who have no strength to write"
This verse truly speaks to the poet in me. This is most probably one of the reasons why I write.

It is not always from a comfortable position that we write. Not everyone understands this. You said it with superb poetic skills.

I happened to come across this poem of yours and I thought it was very well written. I loved how you expressed in a few verses what some of us feel. It said a lot. I wish I could write just a few sentences when I write poetry but I am afraid my muse will not allow it.

Indeed that is what a poet ought to do and I believe "true" poets do just that. Thank you for sharing this gift, Liana. Love and peace to you,
