Poetry by Liana Margiva

What are you sad about, dear flowers,
What bothers you in midst of breezy Summer day?
Aren’t you excited to perceive the beauty
Of lovely petals confetti that whirl
In playful hands of Summer wind?

T’was just yesterday when you were
Admiring yourselves and shone with bliss
Under the warm Spring Sun.
You knew not of the life’s short span on Earth,

You knew not that the beauty full of vigor
Is even shorter! Oh, dear flowers,
That traveler who longs the journey past
Can she be lonely amongst the throngs of people
On this Earth?

Or could it be, perhaps, that Love’s exuberant Bloom
has withered in her lover’s soul, just like You have?
Or could it be that she mourns her
Life’s dream she buried on this day?

Perhaps, she realized that once she fell on Earth
Just like the flowers’ bloom, she lost the fame of yore?
Her love still sores in the sky: akin a bird untamed
Who’s destiny is sealed.

Afflicted by the love and never loved, how strange!
Woe to the heart that’s destined love to keep:
Its bleeding soon won’t stop!

The breeze now beckons, carrying the petals
Away. And traveler grabs them
In honor of the love long dead,
And mourns the fate which nailed her
To the eternal cross of solitude.

And summer is near
When to bloom
Not too soon

an insightful, touching tribute to the "end of summer", the short beauty of flowers and the brevity of human love. And, a lot more nuance of color brushed into your fine lines of poetry
It goes so well in autumn.
Best to you, michael

We see the petals drift to earth. We feel their thinness and the delicacy of their veins. Their end is tragic, yes. But there is another side to the coin. Death returns every part of the flower to the soil from which it sprang, and in gratitude, the soil gifts us
with another. Thank you for reminding me to stay conscious of the
swiftness with which the gifts slip away and the preciousness of
each and every one. With love and admiration, 'Pea'

The tragic ending is very striking.
The almost cliched beauty of flowers praised
contrasts with the complexity and irony of the

Life often shares the gift of exuberance and zest, ever more so in the glow of blooming love. And is there anything more bitter to the soul than unrequited love in the face of fading radiance and the prospect of "the eternal cross of solitude"?

I stroll in the glory of my beautiful rose garden sniffing the fragrance of its air, faithful that my soul will be refreshed in the knowledge that God walks there too. But comes the Winter season, and my salvation lies only in the hope of an invigorating Spring. Wihout the hope and faith of life renewed, I too would suffer a heart in pain with a bleeding that "soon won't stop."

From my perspective, my dear Liana, you have shared with us a profound, insightful and lyrical commentary on the challenges of a life that is fleeting at best.

And now, quickly, I must go fill my heart with joy from the flowers in my garden while their bloom is bright and their treasure overflowing.

So mote it be.

Richard
