It goes so well in autumn.

We see the petals drift to earth. We feel their thinness and the delicacy of their veins. Their end is tragic, yes. But there is another side to the coin. Death returns every part of the flower to the soil from which it sprang, and in gratitude, the soil gifts us
with another. Thank you for reminding me to stay conscious of the
swiftness with which the gifts slip away and the preciousness of
each and every one. With love and admiration, 'Pea' |

The breeze now beckons, carrying the petals
Away. And traveler grabs them
In honor of the love long dead,
And mourns the fate which nailed her
To the eternal cross of solitude.
I find that your verses reach deep into my soul and echo there, Liana. Thank you for sharing your gift. Love and best wishes to you,

Life often shares the gift of exuberance and zest, ever more so in the glow of blooming love. And is there anything more bitter to the soul than unrequited love in the face of fading radiance and the prospect of "the eternal cross of solitude"?
I stroll in the glory of my beautiful rose garden sniffing the fragrance of its air, faithful that my soul will be refreshed in the knowledge that God walks there too. But comes the Winter season, and my salvation lies only in the hope of an invigorating Spring. Wihout the hope and faith of life renewed, I too would suffer a heart in pain with a bleeding that "soon won't stop."
From my perspective, my dear Liana, you have shared with us a profound, insightful and lyrical commentary on the challenges of a life that is fleeting at best.
And now, quickly, I must go fill my heart with joy from the flowers in my garden while their bloom is bright and their treasure overflowing.
So mote it be.
Richard |
