What a soulful and sensitive write about the troubled and shameful world of peoples of another continent from that of the author. I know a little about the historical struggles of the peoples of China, Japan, Indonesia, Africa and England, among others; but I could not begin to write about their historical struggles with the author's extraordinary insight and authority that this piece demonstrates.
And I state that without even suggesting what dynamic images are offered here such as in recounting the tears of mothers whose children "were sold on the block" and the majestic tree that has arisen "fertilized by the ashes of slaves, irrigated by the blood of the blacks."
With countless millions around the world, I look forward to an America that is changing and an America whose changed leadership is reflected in a more positive and sensitive manner and attitude in relations with other countries.
But as to "Uncle Tom's Cabin" by Liana Margiva? Masterful!
With love, respect and admiration,
Richard |
