No Words

just bored and doodling....

I sit,
pen in hand,
and struggle to
put in words
what must be
said.

Nothing
remains inside
my head…
Nothing
resides inside
my heart.

“I never thought
it would end
like this,”
I start to say—

And then revise—
“I never thought.”

All the things
I need to tell you
are locked behind
glass in my
hollow heart.

No words
leak past
that fortress
chamber.

No words.

This is denial to self and what you know needs to be said; but to keep them happy, you pretend it doesn't matter---but.....(pain within you tells you otherwise)...excellently expressed!
