Artist not happy when his art is not seen

Art, it is art said the artist so loud

Well I can't see it, though you're obviously proud

Can't you see waves and seagulls that soar

All I can see is a plain wall.........and door

He angrily called me an artistic heathen

I politely said that my name was Steven

His face then turned red with pure revulsion

But I'd only asked for......... two coats of emulsion

The artists eye has a sixth sense of its own and can see what others can not, well said...

I can see the waves and the seagulls in my mind all the time. Two of my favorite things. Don't know what the gist of this poem is but I do see seagulls in the lake near my home even though 3 1/2 hr away from the ocean.
