I have come to know and love you

As waves of time passed on,

Only yesterday seems I was just a child

Singing lives’ rambunctious youthful song,

I’m sorry that I didn’t know back then

All I put you thru,

But like the Lord, your love for me

Each morning was fresh and new,

Sorry for the times

I did things that made you cry

Sorry the only thing I knew back then

Was “me, myself, and I”,

But older now and wiser

I see, what you went thru,

To make me a wise adult

I have children now of my own

Who serve to show me everyday,

How much patience you had with me

So Mom, I’ve come to appreciate

The way you were with me,

Patient, kind and loving

I need in all I do,
