I had to take some time,

To say, when God was making mothers

I’m glad He made you mine,

He could have given me an average one

Or an “ok” one, that’s true ,

But He decided in His wisdom

To give me one like you!

One who’s been a confidant

A counselor and a friend,

One who’s nursed my heartaches

And helped my wounds to mend,

One who’s words of comfort

Have brought peace and joy betimes,

One whose insight was so exact

I’d thought you’d read my mind,

One who’s words of wisdom

Tho jeered at one time by me,

Have turned out to be the true st

And plain for all to see,

Remember the friends you said were true friends

And the ones you said were not?

Again your wisdom was true proven

Right more times than naught,

That could not stand the test,

No, instead He gave me you,

He gave, His very best…
