We fortify our wall with good excuses

Otherwise others may matter

While we all complain of lonliness

We build the lands of our exile

Hurting of our solitary existence

To save ourselves the pain

Of getting close & likely

Being rejected, forgotten, misunderstood

Yet alone, are we not

All of these, imposing these thorns

Ourselves, leaving no one else to blame

I mis sthe point of these choices

Fear builds for itself so carefully

That which we fear most

yes, to a certain extent we create our situations, but also we 'allow' them to thrive when we are too afraid to make the hard choices or do the painful work. I live in a glass house... so I can't throw stones.. :-)

I think these "Being rejected, forgotten, misunderstood" are the greatest fears of all, for me anyway, having experienced each of these, where they were and are not self imposed. Standing on the outside looking in, is a painful thing and not being accepted for who you are is devastating, especially when the desire to be a part of things are intense. My intuition is very keen and keeps me safe from mean people, who may otherwise chrush my heart. This is a brilliant write. I seem to have related to it very well. Thank you for writing!
