to look within

is to see

jagged pieces

broken pottery

a lost civilization

where i once built home

i add onto these ruins

new rooms, new places

to be me in

because i cannot undo

all that has passed

tho i cannot live

in it's ruins

so i build new comforts

& i make room

to live again

space to love anew

tho the doors stay

open to yesterdays

i live in now
