The battle of the flesh and the soul
To do what's right
When there is one else around
Not a human being in sight
To stand againt the temptation
To saddle up and fight.
I was charging forward
Artillery landing to the left
Shells exploding to the right
My horse in a steady gallop
With or without me
He wasn't about to stop.
His eyes fixed on the lead Horse
Which showed a brilliant white
Like a lightning bolt
Dazzling like a colt
A Jerusalem desert backdrop
Somehow I managed to stay on top.
I was wounded
Just hanging on
The battle ahead
Already riding over the dead
I slapped my horse
And yelled "Faster."

The charge into battle...riding hard and the steed ,as fierce a soldier as the warrior....doing the bidding from the touch or yank of the reigns..moving as one in battle...awesome marriage caught with your pen. Exceptional action piece.
