***My #10th Poem Read With 1321 Hits***

I was real tired that morning

Tried the trolley

Not the subway

Couldn’t find a seat

So I had to stand

All the way

So much for public transporation . . .

`

Anger came with no warning

Life is folly

Tried to punch my way

Just got beat in my retreat

An old man

Exiting got in my way

In the collision banking on litagation . . .

I heard him say

“Son, you’s got to walk it through the day

Your destination come soon enough

Don’t hurry your life away

Just give me one second - one step

That’s all it takes for me

To get out of your way.”

I got real sleepy by midday

Yawning my life away

Took a cab

Scraped off my scabs

Shake a leg

I begged it to go away

Spreading the infiltration that I knew would turn into an infection. . .

Then I remembered what the old man say

"Don’t hurry your life away

Just give me one second - one step

That’s all it takes for me

To get out of your way.”
