My son lived in New Orleans for 2 years, and one day I had a dream to get him home as soon as I could I did,tn know why but the urgency was there, shortly after he was safe at home. Then katrina happened he would have been one of the 1000,s that didnt have a way out and where he lived was destroyed, Everyone said lucky I said God ! I am still asking When? please leave review thanks

A Nation Asking When ?

The death and devastation,
That has gripped the nation.

We morn and weep,
Others are gripped with grief .

Why isn’t more being done,
They’re hungry and forlorn.

The only thing they know for sure,
Is Gods promise ,
Not again to flood the earth.

The response is too slow to come,
What if this was your home.

It’s been 5 days since Katrina came aground,
It’s heartbreaking to hear,
I wish I would have drowned.

They’ve been forgotten I don’t understand,
All they are asking is a helping hand.

We help all over the world,
In just a matter of hours.
In 2001 we handled,
The falling of the Twin Towers.

I know that it can be done,
And the blame will be put on someone.

That for now ,does not matter, It truly can wait,
Other countries we are hearing,
Don’t think that we are,
So great.

Why has there been no survivors list?
We have the internet.

They can get the pictures out to us,
Why can’t the help get in?
The question is being ask,
We want the answer, WHEN ?
As a people, I truly feel Ashamed,
Am I also a little to blame?

I to am only one,
And sit and wonder,
What’s to be done.

God I pray to you ,
You know what we need to do.

Please show us the way,
To help rescue them TODAY.

This is a beautiful write and very sincere and heart felt. I too felt a bit ashamed, and I wondered what we could do to help. I prayed and found the answer within, my little classroom of 26 students and I sent a care package to help at least a few, but we then presented a challange for others, I'm not sure how much was sent, but I felt that we did take an active part...what if that were us...makes one wonder if people really care about the human race, or someone other than themselves...Bravo well done.
Blessings,
