Time In A Bottle
I wish I could put time in a bottle
Slow down the days speeding by
Save some like sick-leave days
To extend my days before I die.
I wish I could put a time-clock on that bottle
Stop it from running when I’m asleep.
Turn it on when I’m doing what I enjoy
Turn it off when boredom runs deep.
If I could put time in a bottle,
I’d save the unused minutes until the day
When death steals close to my ebbing life
When health has too quickly slipped away.
But since time waits for no man
I must take each day as it is meant
Use each minute to the fullest that I can
And thank God for the time he has lent.
