Poetic Home For Rent (Jill's Challenge)

This was a fun and unique challenge. I must say that Jill's challenge also inspired a second poem that I will post in a few days...I'm putting the final touches on it! Here goes....

Poetic Home For Rent (challenge)

A Poetic Home For Rent
within the beautiful mountains of Kentucky.
A home that has housed only one before me
where she stayed until her last day was spent.
Inspiration you will feel when you enter the door
filled with antiques, a touch of romance
and trinkets from yesteryears.
A hint of mystery will entice you
You will want to want to see more.

A Poetic Home For Rent
with rolling hills as far as the eye can see
with pastures to freely run
and hills to explore
A babbling creek to wade for free
and gardens for your plants to grow
a painted barn proudly stands outback
with a beautiful yard
where kids can play and have fun.

A Poetic Home For Rent
nestled in a small community
where the closest neighbor is nearly a mile
churches whose doors are always open.
It’s such a wonderful place to be.
Many come to visit while others decide to stay
on any given day you will be greeted with a smile.
The schools are small but some of the best
come take a look at my poetic home in Kentucky…
you will forget about all the rest!

Methinks you would have to build a duplicate rental home, Joyce...as I can't see you renting out this beautiful and enchanting Poetical Home. Total contentment in the ambiance of your poem and home! Would you consider boarders? So enjoy this challenge entry!

Joyce,
Your "poetic home" reminds me so much of my childhood hometown in rural Southern Ohio. The imagery is very inviting and I'm sure you'd have many interested in renting your "poetic home." I'm having so much fun with this. Everyone seems to take the challenge from a different perspective and this is exactly why I love poetry; everyone sees a scenario differently and we all have our own unique perspectives. I cannot wait to see the other responses to the challenge, too!

Oh Joyce! I see a warm and loving home with points of interest everywhere one looks. I always looked upon a home as a giant coloring book just waiting for that splash of color or well chosen photograph to adorn the walls, windows and ceilings. Just masterful.....

Be always safe,
Karen
