I love these challenge writes as they make one stop and examine their own lives giving us the opporutnity to retrace our steps, look into the future, and get to know each other better. I loved Michelle's challenge as I did Shee's hope many more take the challenge! Again, I apologize for the length but it's hard to sum up what we feel so passionate about...hope you enjoy! I took this picture from my front yard!

 I Love…And Why…Shee’s Challenge

I love to feel a gentle breeze on my face
and feel clear spring water flow freely over my feet
I love being at home in my own comfort zone
safe and secure in my own space.
I love the taste of coffee
especially with cake or pie.
I love walking in the rain
on a spring day when it falls slowly from the sky.

I love my family near and far
their support and laughter warms my heart.

I love my farm and the work each day
and the smell of fresh hay.
I love eating peanut butter out of the jar
and even more with syrup and pancakes…
I love being in the great outdoor
relaxing and sitting in the warm sunshine
I love gardening it’s never a chore
but therapeutic and relaxing for a tired body and weary mind
I love being in love
it gets better with age even after twenty eight years
I love shopping at flea markets
the thrill is exhilarating with each great find.

I love antiques and the story of where they came
a bit of history each different never the same.

I love the Lord with all my heart
as He gives me strength and calms all my fears.

I love my children and grandchildren each are a miracle
each unique and each a blessing from the start.
I love to smell coal and wood burning
as it takes me back to a wonderful place…my childhood.
I love socializing with everyone
at church socials, movies, Wal-Mart, the park…I just love to talk!
I love looking back reflecting on the past
but live for tomorrow making new memories that will last.
I love all God’s creatures
as they are here for a reason
I love the autumn or fall as we call it here in the mountains
the vibrant colors and festivities make it my favorite season.

I love to write and sing
much joy and satisfaction they both bring.

I love picnics with chicken and potato salad
but bologna sandwiches and tomatoes even more.
I love iced tea with a slice of lemon
and camping, making and eating chewy smores.

I love to teach and instill the love of learning
for me it was, and remains a dream come true
I love dreaming, hoping, and planning,
and hearing the words, “I love you!”

I love my mom
she is my best friend, my hero, and the strongest woman I know
I love my ancestors Native Americans
real live people who loved this land that I love so…
I love history and love to learn
reading, researching, days from our past.
I love living and making the most of every day
laughing, living, loving savoring every minute…from the first to the last.

I love the mountains of Kentucky
for they are my heritage…
and the place I call home.

exquisite reply to Shee's challenge -- you have struck a bond with me -- for the mountains and I have an affinity for each other - not a year has passed in the last thirty-eight or more of my life -- when the mountains have not had me as their visitor - Virginia's Skyline Drive, Pennsylvania's Poconos, The Blue Ridge Mountains, The Great Smoky Mountains, The Rockies, The San Francisco and all of the of those I did not mention -- surely God's Gardens of Eden everyone -- my June vacation was spent mostly in the Great Smoky Mountains -- peace and happy writing -- JMW

A lot of peace in your writing Joyce. You also exhibit a soft strength that, I'm sure, comes from living in such a marvelous place. Beautiful image - what a blessing of a view! I also concur with Ceteris and with dear Louisa.
I hope all is well
