HANDYMAN HUBBY

This poem was written in loving memory of my late husband Michael who was a wonderful husband but was anything but handy around the house...

The plates were stacked high
And the pans were yellow
The sink was clogged up
With some grease...

Almost at whits-end
In between shouts, squeak, and cringe
When my husband yelled out
'Lighten Up! Chill Out! Stand At Ease!
Don't call the plummer
Throw away his number
I'll fix it with my new fix-it kit...'

I didn't know whether to laugh or to cry
And this is no lie-- my husband is no fix-it man!

Should I sit-- Should I stand
Maybe tie up his hands
A real plummer is what I need...

I watched with dismay as he got carried away
Whoops! Now I need a carpenter too...

As I look in his eyes with humor reply
'Is there no wonder why I love you...'

Victoria- this was short and sweet and full of spice and I could tell what made your marriage so wholesome and nice. I offer my regrets that he is no longer with you, but that he lives on in your heart and through your work. Can't wait to read more!

Victoria, the title caught my eye and I had to read this poem. Your love shines through and it made me happy to read the words, but sad to know he is no longer with you. You look to be the perfect couple. Your poetry is beautiful.

Oh how adorable! And your husband WOW what a Handsome Guy! With looks like his I'm almost certain he must've been good at things a little more important and a whole lot more romantic than fixing things around the house! My Word! You two certainly made a beautiful couple!
