The vision appeared, her shoulders slumped Bundled against the cool Atlantic breeze Sadness, depression upon an angel’s face As cold and deep as the seas. The clouds looked down upon her there The sun smiled as they moved aside. Allowing crystalline, spaghetti beams to slip right through To glisten on the incoming tide. Steep cliffs to the west, rolling hills to the east Suddenly brightened as the sunlight flooded down The loveliest smile the world had ever seen Replaced the sad angel’s frown. Then he joined her and they slowly walked along The beach as he held her hand. Her smile widened as he spoke to her And their bare feet made prints in the sand. They disappeared into a mist down the way But their laughter still filled the air. And the legend is told to this very day He was seen gently stroking her hair. Now this tale may be true or could be a dream? Did the angel and her lover walk the beach? In my heart I prefer to love and believe Because in “Dreamland” it’s all within reach.
