Psalm 42:9-15:
    ⁹ I say to God my Rock,
       "Why have you forgotten me?
       Why must I go about mourning,
       oppressed by the enemy?"
    ¹⁰ My bones suffer mortal agony
       as my foes taunt me,
       saying to me all day long,
       "Where is your God?"
    ¹¹ Why are you downcast, O my soul?
       Why so disturbed within me?
       Put your hope in God,
       for I will yet praise him,
       my Savior and my God.
 

Dear Father in Heaven,
 

As a nation, we have chosen to remove your divine hedge of protection by embracing sin and sexual deviancy as a cultural norm.  We have destroyed the innocence in the name of choice. We have prostituted our sons and daughters under the guise of exploring ones sexual freedoms.  We have desecrated the sanctity of marriage by embracing no-fault divorce.  We have fallen asleep within the church as the world is dying around us instead of making a difference on this earthly plain. We have listened and embraced the secular voices under the guise of civil liberties, while protecting the sexual deviants who stalk our children. We have watched and in many cases supported and endorsed wicked individuals into elected office, as we continue to compromise God’s standard of moral clarity. We as a nation have thrown you out of our government, our schools, and out of our society, while inviting every other form of deviant behavior within.  And now many of our country’s citizens are offended to see or hear your name.
 

Is it no wonder that you are notably silent as our enemies gather around us?  Is it no wonder that our enemies have increased, while the strategies within this nation to defeat them are entangled in political web of confusion and bad policy?
 

During this Memorial Day, I pray that you would forgive this nation for its betrayal of You, all mighty Father.  I pray that you would take the blinders off the eyes of every politician and that you would reveal your truth within their hearts.  I pray that this truth would burn so deeply within their conscious that they would repent of their evil ways or go insane from their disobedience.  I pray that they would reject their party posturing antics and individual aspirations, and they would begin to serve the people of this land according to Your principles of moral clarity, integrity, and honor.  Finally, I pray that those who are too stubborn to accept these truths, would be replaced by God fearing men and women inspired to step up to the plate to reclaim our nation to the tenants of “One Nation Under God”.
 

Heavenly father, I ask that you would have mercy on our brave men and women in harms way. I pray that you would reveal the truth of your love in their hearts; that you would bring comfort and peace to their families; and that you would protect them from the wickedness of this world.  Finally, I ask that you would turn the tide against the terrorist enemies of this world, whose only offering to mankind is death, destruction, and oppression.
 

This I ask in Jesus’ name, AMEN!
