A visitor left me with much to ponder
after his iconoclastic musings

Belief systems instilled from childhood
are very difficult to let go of

Especially regarding politics and religion I'll not forget my parents always telling us "It's useless to argue about religion and politics"

Ha! The two most widely argued subjects!

Early in my marriage I changed my politics
after my divorce, I changed my religion
since then I've honed both of them to where
I think I've got it right now, for my satisfaction

I don't belive in organized religion as practiced
today, and I know without a doubt that political
parties and systems need overhauling

I also know that one has to take a stand
There comes a time you must have faith in
what you believe and stick with it

I can't change what I heartily believe in
to please someone else

I have an open mind and explore all things,if I find something better I'll go for it. For the most part I'm secure in what I know so friends and others have to accept it, or convince me they know better, if they can!

As I tell my children 'You may not agree with another's opinion or beliefs but always respect their right to have it' I applaud you for your convictions but more so for knowing who YOU are!

Fearless woman your name Eileen
Honesty from where you've been
Walked those shoes
Mile for mile
Changed them out
With a smile
Began a different path
Walked a different way
Stronger force we admire
And appreciate more today.

Love and strength.

Bravo Eileen! And again I proclaim BRAVO!

A strong statement of your doggedness to be unmoved in your beliefs. I do not believe there is anything better than what you believe spiritually. Stand strong there and don't let anyone sway you! There are many voices in this world, audible and inaudible, DO NOT be swayed!

I like too that you are open though to grow if you can be convinced to do so in other areas.

A word for you ...

Walk on the path where your heart leads you
A Path abundant in Mercy and Truth
Learn My way ... walk in My light ... unite your heart to Me
Press in harder and fear my Name.

Your friend ..
Richard Lloyd Cederberg

P.S. The mystery is who the iconoclast was.

You have the right attitude, Eileen, and I respect you much more than you might think for it. These so-called "iconoclastic" musings are a bane to us who believe in divine right and a life hereafter. The thing about these people is that they are so "violent" in their approach, also condescending to us, the ignorant, religious, right-wing nuts. You gave me much to ponder here, Eileen, and thank you for that.

beliefs are based on a habit of mind that you can trust, with or without certainty, and should not be changed soley to please someone else ... good message ... i personally do not believe in things, i accept the validity of perceptions by being able to live out their proof ... if i can't, it's time to change them ...

“I also know that one has to take a stand”

I have always liked the quote that says that if a man does not stand for something…he will fall for anything. Your words remind us well of that Eileen…thanks
