I was playing upon a water spout
in the ocean where poseidon shouts
and watched as a leviathan roared
between sea and heaven he soared

Such derring-do I watched and saw
a great Bard perform feats that awe
having knowledge  beyond compare
his powers and healing he would share

Teaching  creatures of heaven and earth
all of the lessons that are of worth
spirit like, he would emanate when he chose
or disappear before your eyes could close

A charming phantom with sorcerer's powers
he saw me watching and threw me flowers
my heart embraced  such a gallant guru
who freely gave his philanthropic heart too

Life on Earth can be, such a mystery
there are those who work to keep us free
while nature causes us  untold tribulations
it's comforting to meet an augur of liberation

So if you read this poem take note
of deeds  compassionate poet's wrote
their words more than just poetic offerings
teach you things to make your heart sing

etw~

Sounds like a Gallant Guru indeed, and a fine tribute to all Perspicacious Poets. If only we could find some Perspicacious Politicians these days.

I so love this spritely write to the spirit of the Muse and the Bard, Eileen! In particular your penultimate verse makes my heart sing - as did your kind words on my Weather post. It's this sort of mutuality and reciprocity that truly builds us up as writers and spurs us on collectively and individually to our best. Bless you - I truly appreciate YOU and your heart as demonstrated by your art which never ceases to daze and amaze and all our thoughts upwardly raise! You're a star! :)) xx
