In oriental serenity
I lapse into a dream
nature in its  amenity
covers me in sunbeam
surrounded by beauty
floral scents in the air
so light with levity
my senses are bare
I listen to  birds sing
as butterflies flit by
what a joyous thing
is all life on the fly
methinks I shall join
in this wondrous flight
if I can just purloin
some wings I might
soar up to the stars
play with betelgeuse
maybe go to mars
it's time to let loose
leaving the dreamscape
i'm on the cosmic prowl
full of vim and vigor
i'm ready to howl

etw~;)

How beautiful these lines of uplifting treasures shared. Why do I keep being reminded of Frank Sinatra singing "Come fly with me"?

The howl and the butterfly do not fit well together, but I catch the intent and it is wonderful to see you back with vim and vigger at home in the backyard and reaching for the stars.

what a joyous thing
is all life on the fly

How so very true; I've been out observing migrating birds this early spring, and they are a joy to behold. And you're always welcome in the northwood with me and my mutts, Sis. We're howlin all the time!

"play with betelgeuse"

Gotta love it and betelgeuse knows how to play.

I love this airy, searching, wonderfully written poem from your heart. You have always written about the heavens, but this one puts you there, my friend. And in a frolicking mood. Gotta love it twice!
