Black moon
darker than ever
was her fevered
announcement;
I saw it as I woke up,
eyes full of mystic sleep.
She put it there:
beware – stay in – let go.
She:
angelic sorceress
or apocalyptic fool,
did she hear voices
distorted in the pool
of aquatic eyes,
or was she playing guru
to get rich?
Still,
I read her message
with restless heart
on blue computer screen
and also printed on the invisible
veil that wrapped up the day
and its questions, rituals, gestures.
Yet her omen,
whatever it might be,
could not stop my day:
rituals, gestures and lessons learned,
I went on bravely
my hands in my pockets,
and handfuls of causes
to serve or to dream of.
As everything came down at once,
the skies emptied reservoirs
and dams broke, built years ago,
then contradictions bore emotions
like dancing ghosts in diaphanous rain.
It all fell down
and with sticky sadness
in mellow grey
as fresh raindrops turned into cold bars,
I walked surrounded by a cage…
But I kept walking all the same
and warnings, messages,
arcane symbols,
even signs of a coming hurricane
could not stop the movement
of limbs and soul;
so I crossed bridges,
secretly smiling,
accepting the puzzling presence
of the dark moon.

| I felt invited in by this poem. I felt witness to the recalled events of this poem, as shared by the Teller. Even now writing this, I "secretly smile." |

The brooding imagery and the sense of ambivalence, the trepidation, and the metaphorical dams and cages weave a wonderful poem...that go beyond the limits of acceptance (against all odds/doubts/?)

Like the haunting feel to this one as the author takes us for a midnight stroll through the mists and visions of her world...

| a profoundly developed adventure into the psychological depths of moving onward across the puzzling darkness your soul ... hopefully breaking through the collective cage, crossing over the invisible veil, to accept the environ where true lessons are really learned ... |

Perhaps a therapeutic write, but oh, what a write! The mood drenches the reader from the get-go, and you've some fabulous visuals here, "mellow grey", the moon, the rain turning to bars, ghosts dancing in the rain, walking around in a cage, secret smiles, and handfuls of cares... it's all Axilea-beautiful.
From where I sit, bridge-spanning is an incredibly brave adventure, essential though, for moving forward instead of around (and around, and around). |
